This interior design project included the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Our clients had not changed the previous owner’s severely outdated and unattractive décor for 20+ years and it was way overdue for an update.
NATURE-INSPIRED – CREATIVELY REPURPOSED – ART-INFLUENCED
The clients enjoy birds and flower gardening, which is reflected in the area rug, drapery fabric, and lampshades. Lauren also incorporated existing artwork and tea pot collections into the design as well as some Mid-Century Modern fabulousness. We had the vintage Heywood-Wakefield dining room set (a wedding gift to the clients) refinished and the Noguchi-style coffee table was relocated from another room to anchor the space.
Project Inspiration
Lauren likes to say this design was “inspired by brushstrokes,” as the husband is a painter and college art educator and the wife an avid art lover.
